I realized that day that God had
given me so much, and I had never so much as thanked Him. I could see His
love for me, what He had done for me, how He had stood by me, and how He
had been calling out to me. My heart just broke. I started crying and I
said, 'God, I'm so sorry. I've been living like You aren't real. I know
You are. I can't ignore You anymore. I don't want to run from You. I want
to walk with You. I want to learn about You, I want to know You, I want to
love You.' I started reading my Bible and praying and spending time with
Him, and my whole world just opened up."
David continues to experience phenomenal
success on the basketball court, establishing himself as one of the
all-time greats. But more importantly, he has a peace inside where the
emptiness used to be. David Robinson found the fulfillment that all the
world couldn't give him--in his relationship with Jesus Christ. No matter how much or how little we have,
we're all empty without Jesus. If you'd like to experience the peace and
purpose that David has, why not pray this prayer? God, thank You for sending Jesus to die on
the cross for my sins. Thank You for forgiving me and giving me eternal
life in You. I don't want to run from You. I want to walk with You. Help
me to learn about You. Help me to know You. Help me to honor You. Help me
to love You. In Jesus' name, amen.
